Peter Phillips, Poet and Biographer
I write poetry and biographies. On this site I publish new poems as I write them.
I am experimenting with different styles of poetry. I don’t know how good any of my poems are, so I’d appreciate your comments! Much of my poetry is inspired by nature - birds, flowers, insects, and the things I observe when I’m walking. And my writing is also influenced by my Christian faith.
My first poetry book Poems from Poole was published in July 2023, available from Amazon in paperback or Kindle format.
I also research and write biographies. In particular, I am gradually researching the lives of my eight great-great-grandfathers, who lived between 1820 and 1910. My first published biography Thomas Phillips and Richard Laybourne is available from Amazon.
As well as writing and publishing, I am active in voluntary work: I am an enthusiastic advocate for families with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), I chair a regional forum for adopters and special guardians, and I am an elder in a local church.
See my website peter-phillips.co.uk for more information about me or to read my earlier work.
